Podcast Interview with Mark Gandy of the CFO Bookshelf

Recently, I sat down with Mark Gandy, who runs a site and a podcast called The CFO Bookshelf.

So often in my work, I find myself talking to people who are already in the nonprofit world. They are nonprofit board members or fundraisers or leaders and they are looking to improve their skills. This is great work, obviously!

But my interview with Mar was rare treat, because I got to talk to someone outside that world and explain a little bit how this all works.

Nonprofit boards are excellent places for professionals to expand their skillsets, make deeper connections in their community, and experience the joy of giving back. I really enjoyed the conversation about that with Mark, and I appreciate him taking the time to talk about nonprofits and boards with me.

I hope you’ll check it out! Perhaps you can send it that person you’ve been angling to join your board! 😉

The Little Book of Boards provides a concise and easy-to-read overview of the responsibilities of a board member. It provides an excellent overview of the fiduciary responsibilities of the board and then the further responsibilities of someone who takes a leadership position. Some books were too detailed but this one provided enough context for someone new to a board position.
