Creating Informed, Intentional, and Joyful Donors – Episode 003

NonprofitPodcast1400Today’s guest to the podcast is Kristen Corning Bedford, who works with donors on conscientious and purposeful giving. She also brings the perspective of someone who ran the giving program at a community foundation where she lead the competitive giving process for several dozen nonprofits every year.

Her work with Philanthro-be (hint: it rhymes with philanthropy) helps donors understand how to be informed, intentional, and joyful in their giving.

For executive directors and fundraisers, this is a unique opportunity to think about fundraising from the donor’s perspective. How best can you appeal to the conscientious donor? How can you best make your case and keep these donors close?

Erik is an absolute joy to work with. He took the time to understand our organization and board dynamics weeks before the retreat and gave everyone the opportunity to voice their thoughts on retreat priorities and objectives. He even made time to talk to any staff or board member one-on-one, anonymously, to be sure that any behind-the-scenes concerns would be addressed. At the retreat itself, he was an excellent facilitator that helped us to lead ourselves through our visioning and next-step process. His recommendations came from deep experience and helped us to streamline and reimagine how we operate both logistically and in service of our mission. I can’t recommend him enough.
